How would you sum up how your life has changed since becoming a mum?

I decided to leave my job as an Accessories Buyer for a high street chain after having my first daughter and since then my life is pretty much unrecognisable. I used to work full time, travelling across London and Europe for buying meetings and shopping trips. My husband and I enjoyed many dinners out on date nights and had lazy lie ins at the weekend doing as we pleased. Now I am a stay at home breastfeeding mum going to baby and toddler groups, constantly clearing up after them, potty training, weaning, no nights out and always up by 7am everyday! Honestly wouldn’t change it for the world.

What’s the best thing about being a mother?

Seeing my daughters turn into amazing happy characters fills me with absolute joy every minute of the day. Getting to know who they are as unique people and learning so much from them inspires and fulfils me as a mother.

How has your career has changed since becoming a mother? Any thoughts and advice you have for others?

We are in the fortunate position as a family that I could choose whether to go back to work or not after having children and I decided my career was going to take a backseat whilst they were so little. After my second daughter was born I started to think about a career that would allow me to work from home and work around my children whilst still using my buying skills, which is how Annabel Jewellery was born. Launching my jewellery brand gave me an outlet for my love of beautiful product and my business brain, whilst still allowing me to spend my days with my beautiful girls. My main advice is to not stretch yourself more than is needed and don’t try to be superwoman in your career or homelife. Listen to what your heart says over your head where possible and enjoy the little things.
